Handmade Beauty Box- April 2015

The month is almost over but I had to squeeze in one important post: The Handmade Beauty Box! I apologize for this post coming later than usual but a few different things pushed it back. This month we try something totally new to my DIY experience! This is my first time making nail polish! I was always curious about the process but I never thought about doing it myself. Nail polish is a relatively new thing to me personally as I used to never paint my nails. I’m getting better at it and I’ve become a snob for the Formula X brand at Sephora. Here’s an example of one of my favorite colors:

The kit came with a few color options: Blue Glitter, Cellini Red mica, Coral mica, Luster Black mica and Red Blue mica. Right off the bat I hate the black. I don’t see why that color was included in the see of other colors and glitters! Maybe if you do this box with your 13-year-old, angst ridden child they’ll find a purpose. It’s definitely not a good color for the spring season. The other colors I don’t mind and actually like. I maybe would suggest including another glitter option like silver or gold. Just for varieties sake. The blue glitter was my least favorite on application despite it being the easiest to make. I’d only use it for a top coat. It doesn’t spread very well at all! Without further delay… the video is live!
