Product Spotlight: Pink Grapefruit Glycerin Soap

Who doesn’t love a good pick me up every morning? Some people do it with coffee while others choose to wake up with a nice, hot shower! Why not switch out your cup of Gevalia for a wake-me-up glycerin soap? While you can certainly indulge in a coffee scented soap (I sell 2 varieties myself) another great choice is a bright citrus scent! And what better scent to choose than the breakfast fruit: Pink Grapefruit! When it was found growing in Barbados in the 18th century it was labeled as the “forbidden fruit”. I won’t tell if you won’t! ūüėČ

Since then it has become a widely cultivated¬†citrus with¬†China, the US and Mexico being its top producers. The grapefruit is a very tart scent that will surely slap the sand out of your eyes! It has notes of sweetness that is typical of most citrus varieties. But you sure can’t confuse it with an orange soap! The scent is as distinct as it’s hot pink color!

Making this soap was an interesting challenge. How do I create the perfect bright pink flesh color found in this grapefruit variety? Experimenting with multiple shades was my only choice and the results are great! It took a combination of coral and pale pink with just a touch of gold for the extra shine! It’s probably my brightest soap in the bunch next to Fresh Squeezed Orange and Yuzu!

This soap is currently listed on my Etsy site at $6 USD per bar. Only 10 bars are available as of this post.
