Key Lime Margarita

I think it’s time to shake things up on the blog! All soap and no play makes me a stressed person! I enjoy my job running my Etsy shop but it can be overwhelming if I don’t take a minute to myself. What’s more relaxing than a nice alcoholic beverage to take the edge off of packing orders? This drink is inspired by my Ginger Lime glycerin soap but with a more drinkable variety: Key Lime Margarita!

INGREDIENTS: Makes 1 serving

  •  3 tbs. Tequila
  • 3 tbs. Vanilla Schnapps
  • 1 tbs. Key Lime Juice
  • 1 tbs. Simple Syrup
  • Ice Cubes
  • Melon Liqueur (Optional)
  • 1/4 cup Vanilla Sugar (Optional)

Making this drink is super easy and great for a hot day!

  1. Combine tequila, schnapps, lime juice and syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover and shake it! Shake it!
  2. Strain into a glass and enjoy!

If you want to add a more vivid green color add a touch of melon liqueur. For a sweeter twist, coat the rim of the glass with the sugar instead of salt. You can also serve this drink frozen! I love frozen margaritas! If you want to make this drink frozen combine the ingredients in a blender with 3/4 ice; just blend until smooth!

But be sure to drink responsibly! If you are under the age of 21 (at least in the United States, if you’re international your drinking age may be different) DO NOT make this! It is illegal to consume alcohol while under the age limit! A little disclaimer never hurts!
